so here is a new topic: anyone here have thier pilots licence?
Got my SEL Private in 1980. Was thinking of getting CFI but one day I thought to myself; "are you nuts?". So, I just stayed with the "plane" ol' SEL Private. Ever fly the Tomahawk? Love the Baby GS and this forum.

I have a license to pilot a GS...Does that count?
Probably going to upgrade it to a RTD early summertime.
RTD=Ride The Ducati.
well my evil plan was to bum some test books off of some one, so I can start working on the writen part of the test.
Both parents are, we have a nice leer jet, I believe its a Citation
similiar to this one.
I won't step foot on a plane anymore, don't care for it.

A Lear is a Lear, Citation is made by Cessna. Different handling characteristics and performance figures...kinda like the difference between a CBR and a Katana. Both good but different...different in price too.
I gave my copies of the AIM, FAR and PPW to my niece as a birthday present along with my ancient flight-calculator. If you're serious about going for the license go find a school that gives out a free demo lesson. You can get a free one hour lesson applied to your required hours. Be careful...flying is more addicting than riding. 8) . Love the Baby GS and this forum.

Yea, I don't know too much about planes, I still think of it as a leer, flew alot as a kid w/parents, but never liked it. My whole family should have been killed in our little Saratoaga that we used to have, I think I was about 13 at the time. Something bad happened and by some miracle we all survived. I don't fly anymore. For all those people who love to fly, I salute you for being so brave!
The majority of aircraft accidents are due to pilot error...kinda like bike crashes. If you don't stay ahead of the plane or the bike things can get ugly in a hurry. It's strange that I've never had a problem with doing airbatics but I hesitate to push a bike to the limit. I think riding is more dangerous. Love the Baby GS and the forum.

Are you related to the Glass family (ie., David Glass, Dan Glass, etc)?

No, who are they? :dunno:
well I better be serious, I already have a pair of planes and the strip. I just need to get my ticket so I can fly the other one in. that and build a hanger.
Dude, if you've got planes and been flyin' and don't have a license or the material to even take the written...remind me to never fly right-seat with you (or back-seat) . What aircraft do you have? Love the Baby GS and the forum.

I havn't been flying. so no worries. just a pair of old stinson's
Just a pair of ol' Stinsons :o :o . OOOOH wow man are you lucky!! When I first started flying my fellow students and I used to drool over the ol' Stinsons. AAAH, to go off in the wild blue yonder, goggles tight, leather cap and scarf flyin' in the wind. Wanna trade on for an old Baby GS  . Oh you are gonna have sooo much fun. Love the Baby G and the forum.

throw in a case of beer and we got a deal (not serious)
Are they Reliants, Voyagers or what? How in Hades name did you come by not one but TWO of these wonderful pieces of history? You know Stinsons are going up in value right? Oh man, oh man...you lucky freakin' Turd Burglar you. I'd just be happy to find a good low-priced 150 for cryin' out loud. Hey, if you hook up with some pilot close by and make a deal to let them fly a little I'd say you could get a lot of free flight stuff you need to get started on your certificate. ASEL here. I had plans to get my 'copter add on and get type rated in the Bell 206 along with my commercial. Unfortuantely the company I was working for ditched the bird. :( I need to get my commercial and instrument, but there are other more pressing projects right now.
I'm also an A&P. Experience on everything from Piper Cubs up to corporate turbine. Also copters up to the MD500 and Bell 206. One of these old days I'm going to find a 206 project and have a little fun. In the interim I have a 150 in the garage. :)
It may be a little airplane, but she doesn't mind 2,500 mile trips every now and then.
I'd love to have a 150 in the hangar, but damned if I'd want to do many 2500 mile trips in it. . Love the little meek but mighty GS500 and this forum.

And I thought this thread was going to be about Michelin Pilot tires
I thought it was going to be about carb pilot-jets. Nice to know there are some other pilots flying something other than motorcycles. Love the might twin and the forum.

I inherted them.
Hope they lived a good life, sorry to hear that. But they must have liked you. Take care of those things...they don't make 'em like that anymore. Love the little White Owl and this forum.

ok, I have been doing some research and I have found out that they are 108-2's with the extended wings and are alum covered. one is a parts plane but it is complete and there are a couple of spare motors that need to go back together. the other one is still being restored, it should be flying in about 6 months, which is why I was wanting to get my ticket before then, so i can be the first to fly it. and you know what's really cool, my boss man has a pair of CB's so if I get the ticket then he will let me get my instrument and water ratings in his plane
