Title: GS problem
Post by: Reuben on April 21, 2005, 02:29:03 PM
Problem. As I was driving, the engine died. A jump start didn't work.  I now have no lights, horn, indicators or (more importantly!) ignition. I do, however have an oil and neutral light. The fuse is fine. Is there something that's obviously 'gone', or is a more in-depth investigation necessary?

Thanks for any help!

I think what happened to you happened to me.  IT is a small plug beneath the seat.  just go through them one at a time and spray corrosion-x or wd-40 in them and plug back together.  The one that caused me problems only connected one wire and is black and small.  hope this helped.

Sounds like 94suzuki500 has it diagnosed.

A bad ground wire (black-white wire)  connection at or near the battery (-) terminal would cause everything to quit except the neutral and oil pressure lights. The neutral and oil pressure lights would still function because they have their own dedicated ground connections via the frame and a wire from the frame to the battery (-) terminal.
