Title: want a distraction from studying? Paint your bike!
Post by: raylarrabee on April 23, 2005, 09:44:41 PM
Well, every semester during law school, I manage to start a project to avoid studying for my exams...first year, it was a coffee table...last year it was building a koi pond in my garden...this year I found out that I got the job I wanted, so no pressure on my exams.

I sent my carbs off to Srinath for a stage 3 rejet, ordered a carbon fiber wileyco (and a srinath flange) and bought the K&N pod filter.  Since I had the tank and plastics off, I decided to paint.  I'm working on the base color coat right now, and it's shaping up nicely.  This is what I had in mind:

I need to find some vinyl "pinstripe" tape to do the yellow stripes and maybe look for some Suzuki decals.  I'll post some pix when it's all done.[/img]

I just pulled my bike apart last week to check valves, replace clutch cable, etc. and thought "while it's apart, might as well paint it"...  The bike was purple when I bought it - I knew that wasn't going to last long!   Anyway, it's getting the flat black treatment right now.  I just love plain black, no decals or anything... just like my car

Don't get me wrong, I agree that GM's are pieces of shaZam! - as well as every other vehicle manufactured in North America.  All I said was my car is black; nothing about how good it is.  The transmission in that thing has been nothing but problems since I bought it 3 years ago.  My next car will definitely be an import.... That Lancer EVO looks pretty good to me.... But hey, you make the best of what you've got at the moment until you can afford something better.
