Good luck!
the forcaster goes by what he/she sees on comp, and by info, not an exact science, but i feel your pain tho
you should reconsider your stance on weather news, think of it as a suplement to help you decide but not a solid deciding factor, be prepared for rain with rain gear and use the news to help you plan.
Do anything else and you might as well live your life based on fortune cookies.
Just buy a subscription to DTN. It's got up to the minute radar, so you can see the exact patterns and get your own experience. DIY forecasting!

weather.com and the local news said the same thing and both were usually right the past few months

Bitter much? :)
No, not BITTER, just defensive.
They wanted to know within 15 minutes when it would start to rain, stop raining, how much rain we'd get, how much cloud cover, how high the cloud ceiling would be, wind direction withoin 10 degrees, all kinds of stuff.
The TV weather guy has it made compared to a real working meteorologist. The TV guy just reads the National Weather Service forecasts. The NWS puts out plain language 7 day forecasts and they just read it. A lot of the TV "weathermen" are just wannabe news anchors and not meteorologists.
i agree that weather pattern analysis might be hard on the other part of the US...but im in socal...few rain episodes happen here...and its almost spring..i just thought they would be better in analyzing things... :dunno:
For the most part I agree, some areas are a LOT easier to forecast than others. But, when EXACTLY are the Santa Annas going to kick up? 10:15AM or 10:25AM? What time EXACTLY is that morning low cloud deck going to lift and break up. When is the afternoon sea breeze going to start? How strong will it be? If you take the time to notice, even a nice place like the LA basin has it's own forecasting problems.
