Post by: ashman on April 25, 2005, 09:49:09 AM
Is it just me or does it seem like there has been a ton of accidents reported by memebers lately???(myself included) Maybe its the spring weather and people are riding more now or they are rusty from sitting out the winter. Eaither way is it just me??? :?

lol, I wasn't rusty cause I rode all winter... I just got ran over!  But yeah there's been several.  I posted my story so others might learn something, and I hope it makes a difference.  I read a post this morning were a member was gonna trade-up his icon pants for some with armour... If I could turn back time I would have done the same before my crash!

yea, i think it's that time of the year...more people are anxious to ride again. the road condition isn't the best either. aslo when the weather is nice, i wanna ride faster and lean lower. or just flat out be reckless, like riding without proper gears. i rode without a jacket last week

everyone be safe out there!

Something to consider with the weather warming is that often times when the road is still shadowed by trees, which is so common on mountain roads, is that moss or mold will grow on the road in these areas. Also, tar snakes are very slippery when just plain cold or still wet, but also when they heat up they melt into a slippery oilslick.

I've noticed an increase too...

. . . there's a big sign on our major highway here that says something like "leave space for motorcycles".  First time i've ever seen that.

Anyways, just remember to ride like you're invisible.

Also, old, cold tires don't help either, check your tire pressures before going out for the first time! And scrub off the hardened rubber while riding to warm up your tires; take it easy!

One more reason to ride all year, :)
