I really want a new exhaust that has a little more rumble than stock, and good looks.
BUT I am terrible with carbs and refuse to mess with them unless needed. Is there anything I can do as far as a slip-on (or anything else).
THANKS to all who reply, BigTwin
Cobra F-1!
a good bunch of us have a wileyco slip on. if you get the flange from srinath, he can put a choker on so you dont have to rejet. thats where im at untill i get to rejetting..
and it rumbles good.

It should grumble even better ...
Cool.
Srinath.
I have a Wileyco with Srinath choke flange.
Cobra = do do
Who's that little chicky mamma with the Ninja you talking to Nose?
So it does still sound good, glad to hear that.
Looks clean too. It does run fine without the rejetting right, no flat spots. Can you tell a power difference at all (not needed, I'm looking for sound).
Is this the pipe I want that will work on srinath's flange: WILEYCO EXHAUST SUZUKI GSXR750 96-99 YAMAHA YZF1000R 97
Will be buying one shortly, BigTwin
That's the one.
Make sure you get on the flange list.

i have a small flat spot around 5k but no biggie. also i think on a stock gs, one can have flat spots too, right? and yes i noticed a power difference. believe it or not i can get the front wheel off the ground w/o dumping the clutch at all :)
Is it a bogging down sensation, or just a momentary loss of power? How does it affect performance?
-BigTwin-
momentary loss. doesnt bother me at all. only time i really notice it, is when im cruising around 5k where the flat spot is, and i open the throttle hard. then i notice it. its kind of like when you're driving an automatic with overdrive or 5th gear and your at the speed where it flips back and forth btw 4th and 5th. ok bad analogy but u get what im saying
whats one of these wileyco for the gs cost, who's the best place to order thru.
Ebay from Dennis Kirk:

Get the one for the GSXR/YZF's
-BigTwin-
you will need a flange from srinath as well. go to the thread titled, "What's a flange?"
weaselnoze, have you noticed any other downsides? Increased warm-up time or anything? My bike doesn't like first gear, it bogs down from time to time, any power increase right off the line?
-BigTwin-
like i said before, i did notice a power increase. enough for me to pull the front up w/o dropping the clutch. its not night and day but then again, i havent rejetted and im running a stock, dirty air filter

Well that's more of a slide comming up too fast issue I think, not exactly a rejet ... BTW slide comming up fast is one side effect of pipe and K&N ... and some bikes never show that symptom ... why ... no idea ...
Cool.
Srinath.
Excellent, if all I notice is more sound and a little more umph, it's a win-win situation. And when I rejet it will get even better.
