HAH, that is great, shows you what showing off really gets you....
ouch, that'll take him down a peg or two... Guy needs a lid.
and in the same vein...

yeah, but that guy wasn't tryng to look cool, he was just trying to balance. the first guy didn't have a helmet and wanted to look badass, didn't have any idea what type of power his bike had. I feel bad for the second guy, not the first.
In italy there's a saying...
BAAGHAADOOSSHH!!!!!!!

It's called taking it easy until you know your bike...

I agree, thats why i haven't gone over 60 on my gs yet, still learning it, haven't had the tach over 8000 either.
I just wish I could get that link to work. :x

Did you try right clicking on it and saving it to desktop? Mine plays with Quicktime just fine.
Watch it in slow motion and you can see the physics of a high side really clearly.
:?
Can't stop laughing at that first link, hilarious!
Okay. I got it. Ouch.
So, I don't have speakers. Did he gun the engine and slide it out, or were those bricks too slick?
Looks like it doesn't take much to upset a liter bike.
Cold tires + slick pavers + too much throttle = dumb a$$
He gunned the throttle, and the rear slid-out; then it looks like he backed-off the throttle and sort-of high-sided. But if that was a high-side, it was a very small, gentle high-side! I bet he's just bruised (except maybe he rashed up his left hand thoroughly on the cobblestones). He's lucky he dumped it there, rather than a mile down the road at speed.
So...
remind me again why anyone would want a touchy throttle?
but he looked soooo cooool 8)
...before he met mr pavement
He did look prettycool, didn't he.
Ah well. Maybe someday I'll have that much panache.

Holy crap! I didn't even notice he didn't have gloves!
i cant figure out who is yelling NO NO NO in the second video the guy on the bike or the guy with the camera. sucks for guys with fairings :)
i wish there were more of the video. i want to see the next 30 mins of that guy's life

the bike's owner was crying "no...NO...."
AHAHAHAHAHHA They guy in the first vid is a member of sportbikes.ws.
He is here localy.
Cool guy, not as newb as the video might suggest.
Much better rider than you might think.

...
a "better" rider wouldnt try to take a supersport let alone any bike ANYWHERE without a helmet...
and whos sig was it that said, "good judgement trumps good skills everytime?"
I'll have to admit I have ridden from time to time while wearing no helmet. Of course I would not ever be accused of being one of the "better" riders in the population though. Love the mighty GS500, Germany (fine if not quirky engineering), and this forum.

oh shut up
i wouldn't think twice about moving my bike to the street form the garage without wearing a helmet
or even crossing a parking lot to get gas

moving a bike a few feet is much more different than letting it rip as hard as you can with no gear at all

yes it is
but as i quoted your post you dind't say anything at all about revving up the bike
just moving the bike "ANYWHERE without a helmet"
never said it was better just pointing out there is a difference
call me paranoid but if i have to turn on my bike to move it i slip on the ole bucket incase some freak accident happened :dunno:
So back at the dealer...
Who was laughing harder; the sales guy or the service manager?
What I want to know is: why was it being filmed? Some momentous event? Who takes a video camera when they go pick up thier new bike?
Secondly, why was he wearing a leather jacket and pants, but no helmet or gloves?
