yeah, but that guy wasn't tryng to look cool, he was just trying to balance.  the first guy didn't have a helmet and wanted to look badass, didn't have any idea what type of power his bike had.  I feel bad for the second guy, not the first.

Did you try right clicking on it and saving it to desktop? Mine plays with Quicktime just fine.

Watch it in slow motion and you can see the physics of a high side really clearly.

Okay.  I got it.  Ouch.

So, I don't have speakers.   Did he gun the engine and slide it out, or were those bricks too slick?

Looks like it doesn't take much to upset a liter bike.

Cold tires + slick pavers + too much throttle = dumb a$$

Post by: Rema1000 on April 27, 2005, 01:39:51 PM
He gunned the throttle, and the rear slid-out; then it looks like he backed-off the throttle and sort-of high-sided.  But if that was a high-side, it was a very small, gentle high-side!  I bet he's just bruised (except maybe he rashed up his left hand thoroughly on the cobblestones).  He's lucky he dumped it there, rather than a mile down the road at speed.

So...
remind me again why anyone would want a touchy throttle?

I'll have to admit I have ridden from time to time while wearing no helmet. Of course I would not ever be accused of being one of the "better" riders in the population though. Love the mighty GS500, Germany (fine if not quirky engineering), and this forum.

C......

moving a bike a few feet is much more different than letting it rip as hard as you can with no gear at all

What I want to know is: why was it being filmed? Some momentous event? Who takes a video camera when they go pick up thier new bike?

Secondly, why was he wearing a leather jacket and pants, but no helmet or gloves?

He was on his way to audition for Judas Priest or Accept, i think.
