hey folks,
i received my suburban machinery type 2 handlebars in the mail
i'm so excited to put them on, but i want them to be all black
(tdan553527: ALL BLACK F's!)
how should i go about doing this?
2 coats of spray paint with primer
2-3 coats of spray paint black?
damn, what kind of spray paint should i use?
any better suggestions?
cheers,
joel
You could powder coat them.
can i do that myself?
Actually, isn't there a home kit where you can powder coat stuff in your oven?
Take it to a shop. They'd powder coat them for you for nothing. Just give them a packet of Skittles and a couple of stamps and they'd do it for you. . .

All Black F's
I like Duplicolor spray paint, you could get that black high heat exhaust paint, then cure it in your oven.
i would not spray paint it
Sorry.
Call a shop that does powder coating. They probably do a batch of black parts every week or couple days. They'd probably throw it in with some other stuff for very little money.

cure it?
how hot and how long?
cheers,

It states temps on the can, something like 4hr@200 deg or 3hr@300 or 2hr@400. Can't remember what it said exactly. Never done it, but it should be pretty tough when done.
All Black F's
pretty tough?
oh well, anything for my ALL BLACK F!
man, that's a wicked name
can't wait till everything's installed
cheers,
joel
There is a professional rugby or aussie rules football team in New Zealand called the All Blacks. You should get some of their gear on-line and start pimping it when you ride!
The All Blacks are pretty much the most dope rugby team on planet Earth. Too bad we can't pick about 15 blokes out of the NFL, send them down there and hand out some cans of kicked kiwi ass.
(Aside: tell me, aussies, how come the only austrailian footballer to make it in the NFL was a sissy punter? You ain't so tough. . .)

That's it. That's the one.
I guess the All Blacks are all big kiwi dudes. The put paint on their faces and come out before games doing some sort of polynesian ritualistic dance before games to turn their opponents into a quivering mass of shrunken stumps.
use a sharpie on your bars
My company has a powder coating department, but we only do gray, green and tan.
That All Black shirt is nice, I'll have to get one.
