Was wondering, where I could pick up a hose that goes from the rear reservoir to the master cylinder. I'm looking for a something that I can cut to fit, not an OEM piece. Gotta find something with a smaller ID. I know brake fluid is corrosive, so I didn't want to go out and try just anything...
You have to use hose that is compatible with brake fluid. Otherwise it will sweat through the tubing. Most autoparts stores will carry the black hose. If you want a clear hose then it costs about $8/foot to order it.

where can I find stainless steel braided brake hoses?
Maybe, somebody makes them already so they fit?
The rears are find, but my front needs more power.
Welcome, Gman!

Search "Steel braided brake lines" for more info.

Thanks, scratch,
for the quick help!
Did anybody here find a better caliper, or has done a twin disk conversion?
My lever force is quite high, compared to the other bikes. And first,
as usual, I am doing the lines. Can you do a breaky with your GS500 on dry pavemant?
I only can do it with 4 fingers, but 2 are enough on the Duc and the Kawi.
Now I am spoilt.

My Katana F/E conversion from the FAQ: http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=13673.0
No problem braking with 1 finger. This F/E uses dual 4 pot calipers.
I have done a GSXR F/E conversion as well. I had the stem turned to fit the GS steering head. The dual 6 pots that I have may be a little overkill.
I love your new fork with dual disks! Assume it works as well as it looks.
Now that is a lot of work. Thanks for the nice pictures. How about this:
Would the Katana 6-pot calipers go onto my single disk? If yours stops
with 1 finger, mine should then stop with 2 fingers?
I did invest lots of work already into the fuel system: it's injected. We got
an F1 style EFI system where the fuel nozzle sits at the inlet of the trumpet.
(//) whish I knew how to put a picture.

The pic has to be somewhere on the net. I think there is a How-To in the FAQ section...done by our emminent Mod Kerry...why yes....CLICK HERE (http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=15370.0) to read it.
So you've done EFI on the GS engine? We must see this, please. :thumb:
Nice Turkina you got there....umm...Turkina.
If you don't mind a little added maintanance, then you can use just about any kind of tubing. You can get some real cheap clear stuff from any parts store...but you'll have to change it about once a year.
Here are the pictures of my injected 1991 GS500E.
The K&N filters are removed for visibility. The carbs
are poured out with epoxy and remachined on the lathe.

Why would anyone need such a thing ?
interesting. How does it run?
I respect the work but man... carbs are alot more bang for the buck. Bisi (holder of fastest SOHC NA Honda) runs carbs on his NA drag Honda's and his analysis for fuel atomization proved that he would have needed more than double the runner length for equal atomization with injectors over his carb setup. Neway.... cool lil project you got there.
wow that's awesome! What'd you use to control it and what kind of pump and start a new f%$king thread already and tells eVeRyThAnG!!!1!
The control unit is a model FCR-5 from Control Systems, Inc. Those are just a few hunderd bucks. Mine is a used one. Works just like new. It runs probably like an optimized stock GS500E. Low throttle operation is lean for good mpg. Full throttle is medium, not rich nor lean: lambda=.85 . When the air cools down in the evening, then she adds a little fuel, and so on. Like a normal EFI setup. For starting and warmup, she enriches it automatically. So you start it, and drive it off, like mom's car. When you drive it over a mountain, she doesn't go rich with the falling barometer. The carbs are now called throttle bodies. They are all smooth and straight inside, no needles, bumps or holes. I don't know though, if that brings a lot of power??? The airbox is gone, so she is a little loud on the inlet noise.
Gman
How tunable is it and how hard is it to remap? She uses a lambda sensor (O2)? What kind of injectors are you using? What about a TPS? Are you using an air flow meter or a map sensor and what model and from what?
Plus like 50 other questions...I want a full write-up.
Oh, and no, smoothing out the throttles does nothing for power output...only delivery.
