Title: Sneak peak...master of lower for full fairing
Post by: dgyver on April 29, 2005, 08:02:20 AM
Finally got the finish smooth enough on the master for me to pull a mold. Hopefully I will start on the mold making this weekend. I am planning on making another mold for a chin fairing using this same master as a basis for its design.

I'm sure you knew it was only a matter of time before I popped up, but I have some questions.

First off, that is beautiful.  Wonderful lines.

Second, are you making that for the GS (how cool)?

Finally, do you recall that I'm first on the list to get one (chin fairing)?

That is the lower to match the full race fairing that JamesG made. His master was never completed when I picked up the stuff. It is what has been missing from my bike for way too long.

Yep I remember.

There is a upper mold as well. But these are designed as "race only". No provisions for lights.

Yeah I have way too much going on. It is going to get worse when I start back in school next month.

Funny thing is that it does not look like that much work to glue together some boards, add some putty, make a couple of fiberglass patterns and glue them on, sand, and paint.

I have a small list (somewhere) of people wanting a chin fairing. Once I have it ready I will post for that. A lot depends on how easily this lower can be used as a chin. It should fit up really good, but you never know.
