Hello all. I've been lurking on here and posting occasionlly for some time. Well, this week I sold my beloved GS500F. :(
Well, I'll be picking up a brand new holdover 2004 Triumph Daytona 955i next week. So, will I still be welcomed to post, reply, and meet & greet? Or will I be greeted with hostility? Well, more than nomral hostility.
:guns: :nana: :x
:)
Just take the farings off your bike, put on some tubular bars and a 130 rear tire and maybe nobody will notice
hehe.. just kidding...
Once a GS-er... always a GS-er.
Your new username will be either "Fancylad" or "little lord moneybritches" but you can stay
He's only got 22 posts. But, yeah, you're still welcome (I've never been asked questions about a 955i before (not that I'd be able to help)).
I just wanted to take this moment to say... drooool.. 955i... 150hp triple... so good. Just out of curiosity though.. why not an S3? At least they're naked.. But yeah. Awesome bike, I'm jealous :thumb:

Funny, I was actually looking for a 2004 Triumph Sprint RS w/ the SSSA. Well, I called many dealers but this one dealer in NJ (Jack Trebour) the salesman asked me why I wanted that bike. He was real cool and we just started talking. He then said the RS and Daytona have the same engine (which they do) and he had a leftover 2004 that the GM wanted to move.
I asked how bad they wanted to move it? He said we'll sell it to you for $7565 + taxes (no other charges)!!! I wasn't looking for a Daytona but hell I couldn't pass that up. Only bad thing was the bike was red. All my gear was yellow and black.
So, I put a deposit on the bike, sold the GS (because the wife wouldn't let me have both since I promised her new floors and windows :x ) So, sometime next week, I'm driving to pick up my Daytona. Oh, I have to wait for them to install the high mount CF exhaust and hugger first. That's why I have to wait.
Leave, Leave now!....
Picked up the 955i yesterday. I'll post some pics later this week. :)
I rubbed one out to the Speed Triple the other day. The 955 is super cool too. The more I think about it, the more I start to wonder if my next bike won't be a Triumph. Nice work.
BTW, you can only post here if you post pics of your bike.
You have a cool wife, even if she made you sell your GS.

how do you like it so far?
SWEEEET... Your bike reminds me of the movie Akira. I love the style of the back wheels...
Mmm...red...the fastest color.

Sure, stick around. We're not a bunch of "Harley riders who don't wave to anybody but other Harley riders", are we?
I've noticed a general lack of flaming here. Makes for a great place to hang a helmet. You aren't alone here in not having a GS500 anymore. Several have "moved on" including our own Pantablo.
Roy...
I beat the hell out of my z1000 out of the box (OK well after the first 50 miles). It's the first bike that doesn't blow blue smoke when it gets twisted tight. All my other bikes were broken in by the book and thay all sipped a little oil...
Just my .02 but I'd beat the crap out of it. I'm not talking bouncing it off the rev limiter for 5 minutes straight, but wicking it up often and doing it with short trips. Heat cycles my man. That's the trick.
That's a beauty~ couldn't help noticing the solo seat though. The wife doesn't ride with you? I can't believe she didn't want to keep the GS for herself.
Good luck with it!

My wife rides too; however, I couldn't ever get her to drive the GS. :dunno:
She's more into cruisers but she loves my new bike.
