Title: pilot jet question
Post by: ktrim on May 06, 2005, 07:50:36 AM
the local dealer is out of the .40 pilots.  Is the pilot only for idle or does it affect anything else?  wonderingif i could just install larger mains and not have a problem. I read somewhere that the pilots just decrease warmup time??  any help,  Id like to rejet this weekend, but can onlyget the mains.  I can wait if I have to,  I need to adjust the valves also while I have it apart

It will also cure some off-idle hesitation and basically smooth out carburetion all through the range. You did order them? And you pulled, or are going to pull, the brass plugs?

0-1/8 th throttle is pilot - as youre trying to take off from a stop or very low speed and you need 40 non bleed's ...
