Title: motorcycle movies
Post by: ramo on May 06, 2005, 10:21:28 AM
best motorcycle chase, i say the Great Escape Steve McQueen vs. Nazis. Best  couple on a motorcycle, Garden State for me. Coolest motorcycle from a movie, Captin America from Easy Rider. Greatest stunt on a motorcycle, Jackie Chan movie where the girl uses a dirt bike to jump on the train. Worst use, Italin Job Seth Green drops his bike. Best use, Steve McQueen  ecscaping Nazis. You guys agree, disagree.

Hmm...I haven't seen Great Escape (I haven't seen a lot of movies), so at this point in time I'd favor best chase of the Matrix2 over MI2. Haven't seen Garden State or Easy Rider(see parentheses above). Best stunt goes to James Bond (Peirce Brosnan) on the BMW R1200C. Edit: Mm, no, best stunt goes to MI2 over Tomb Raider. Further edit: Best Couple goes to Raiders of the Lost Ark III, Sean Connery and Harrison Ford in the German sidecar. Agreed worst use was the Italian Job. Coolest Use of a motorcycle was in Michael Jackson's movie with the bad guys doin' the burnouts going after Michael when he transformed into the car.

Check out "The motorcycle diaries"... i loved it, two guys cruise around south america (over 13k kilometers) on a Norton 500.  Long road trip like that sounds good right about now...

Absolutely agree! :thumb: Although the Garden State couple rides are a good pull too, but no one can come close to the Indy III ride with Dad and Junior.

"When a girl has a heart of stone, there's only one way to melt it... Just add ice."

  I've never seen it, but been dying to. Sounds horribly terrific! Do you think his pant will provide adequate protection in a crash?

"Word to your mother- Why don't you drop the zero and get with a hero."

The village people movie "Can't Stop the Music" is in the same eschelon of awesomely bad movies.

Yet I'm the only person I've met who has seen both.

No, the best bad movie ever is Roadhouse with Patrick Swayze (unfortunately, no motorcycles).  That Vanilla Ice movie came out when I was in 8th or 9th grade--grossed just over $250 k and was out of the theaters in 2 weeks.  It was similar in theme and in box office reciepts to the Luke Perry vehicle, Eight Seconds, where Luke was a bad-ass rodeo hopefull.

Best chase:  Great Escape (John, you have got to see that movie)

This isn't a movie, but how about CHiP's.  Or what about that eighties series where the guy rode around a bulletproof bike.

Anybody remember "Then Came Bronson" about a guy that rode around the country on a Sportster? Cool series, cool bike. Love the GS500, Italy (that boot shaped country), and this forum.

It was called "Streethawk."  His secret lair was behind a sign in an alley and his bike made 90 degree turns.

Also, though not predominately a motorcycle movie, Tron featured some of the coolest movie bikes ever

Ok I like many other people my age.. used to think vanilla ice was cool. then i realized what a complete retard i was about music and stopped liking him.. nowadays i still don't like him.. but...

look at that picture man! he was well ahead of his time.. i mean.. he's white, he's hip-hop (remember what hip-hop looked like back then!?-holy crud) and he's riding a rocket that's painted up like a circus freak! DAMN!

All we need now is a new version and it would be like blockbuster magic!

How about the Slim Disaster! (Insert pic of Eminem in his full baby blue sweatsuit glory standing next to metal flaked chromet out extended busa)

Man I could hate that for a lifetime!!

I'm glad somebody mentioned ON ANY SUNDAY!! The anniversary edition with the bonus DVDs is even better. Has the obligatory "never before seen footage" and an extra DVD of the man Malcom Smith.

Man, I forgot about "Cool As Ice"...and never did see it back in '91. I think I'm gonna have to find it for my bro's bachelor party though!! That's quality entertainment right there!!
