Hi all,
I passed the MSF course a while ago and I just got a 96 GS500E last week :). I start practicing it in a school parking lot nearby at night and I like the GS a lot. I just come across this forum when I'm searching for information about GS500. After reading the posts, I found out that you are all very experienced motorcycle riders and all the information are very valuable to me. Just want to say hi to everyone and I'm sure that I'll post a lot of questions later on .

it must have been painted over
welcome!
No, no. The '96 came in either Pearl Novelty Black or Candy Antares Red. (See the GStwin Color Chart (http://www.gstwin.com/gs_colors.htm) .) The black version is featured on my home page (http://www.bbburma.net).
As far as I know, 1996 is the only model year that sports the dark frame. :thumb:
Regarding recent black frames....clicky (http://www.suzukicycles.com/products/GS500FK5) and clicky. (http://www.suzukicycles.com/products/GS500FK4)
WICKED !!! Congrats on the bike ...The GS was my first bike and is my sole mode of transportation ... the GS is a bad ass lil bike that can take all the abuse you cn dish out ... I have put about 11,000 miles in bout a year ...
Hey Simon,
I'm in cali too..not to far from you. When you get a little more experience...don't hesitate to pm me so we can go riding.
I have about 1500 miles behind me...taking it to the canyon in the malibu/zuma canyons...is what helped me the most so far...but stick with the parking lot for now and gradually step it to the residential roads, then to roads with traffic..etc...

Hey Jonah,
No problem! I'll go step by step in my practice. Hopefully I'll be ready to the canyon soon. :)
