Will the front and rear rotors from a 91 fit on a 96?
Thank you......
Rear rotor => YES.
Front rotor => I
think so, but ...
... see the Suzuki part numbers on my GS500 Brake Parts (http://www.bbburma.net/Documents/GS500_Brake_Parts.txt) page. There are 4 different part numbers up through 2002, grouped like this:
1989-1992
1993-1995
1996-2000
2001-2002[/list:u]I still think they will interchange, at least from 1989 through 2000. But
dgyver or someone else with more hands-on experience could say for sure.
Thanks Kerry
I hope dgyver will chime in and let me know...
Yes they are compatiable. The only differences in them that I have seen are the different color of carrier, black and gold. Not sure why the 4 part numbers.
Thank you very much dgyver
I had a feeling they would work but I did not want to take the chance and spend money if I was not 100% sure
I'm not worried about the core color. I was going to repaint it to match my bike....
I have a 04 GSF, does anyone know who makes and where i could buy a front rotor the has the gold core? I think EBC makes it, and went on the website but couldnt find much. Any help would be great. Thanks.
The "gold core" rotor you ask about sounds like the one I have on my bike. (See my current avatar image.) It's an EBC Pro-Lite, model number MD3006RS.
I just checked my Dennis Kirk "Metric Bikes 2005" catalog, and they list the same EBC Pro-Lite aftermarket rotors (both front and rear) for ALL GS500 model years: 1989-2005.
For sources and possibly out-of-date prices, check the table at the bottom of my GS500 Brake Parts page. (See link in my first post above.)
For pictures of the rotor and of the mounting process, see the HOW TO: Front Rotor Replacement (http://gstwins.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=13871) topic in the FAQ forum.
Thats EXACTLY the one i was talking about.
THanks alot kerry. :thumb:
