Title: uni drop in fell apart

taking carbs off today for rejett,  uni air filter had fallen apart inside the airbox,  anyone ever had this happen??

Yea common, I hate the UNI's for that reason ... my vulcan had stock filter made of foam, blow by and dirt and filter oil eats it till when you touch it it smears like clay ... lousy ...

Keep it clean, and you'd get long use from it. Blow by doesn't catch a GS filter that much ... so just dirt ... dishwashing liquid and re oil with UNI oil ... Of late after the vulcan incident ... I  prefer the stock paper ... it seems to clean out well and last longer than UNI ...

Just bought the UNI air filter cleaning kit ($11, local shop) that has the cleaner and the oil in spray cans, and serviced the airfilter last night, looks good so far after two years.
