I bought some and I was wondering what everyone thought of them. I bought they from somebody who bought them and sold them later. Since they were posted as carbon fiber and the pics looked good I was expecting them to be carbon fiber or at least woven look alike. I feel as though I got jipped as I payed 40 for some printed stickers.
that's why i didn't buy any. (http://www.sport-touring.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/withstupid.gif)
Caveat emptor.
I assume you're just trying to stir up rancor, animosity, and general unrest.
It wasn't as if he didn't put up 900,000 photos of them before you made your purchase. He even said they weren't real carbon fiber, I am pretty sure. And you bought yours from a third party.
why do you think they sold them to you in the first place?
Hey I wasnt saying I bought mine from the original guy. They guy I bought them from said real carbon fiber. I pm'd him when I got them and said he sold them as real carbon fiber when they were stickers and he said to look at his post where it says not real carbon fiber. He Posted "Not real carbon fiber" the same day after I asked him about them. So he tried to cover it up and lie about it. If I was trying to raise unrest about them I would say who it was that I bought them from. I was wondering if I should be some what satisfied with the stickers. Oh ya did I mention mine have a hair in the epoxy/resin stuff on top of the sticker.
from the original thread in the first post, right above the pics.

QuoteI had an associate of mine make these for my GS. After dropping my GS, the engine case and suzuki sticker were scratched so I decided to replace the stickers. I wanted something different and carbon fiber to match my decals and parts. These are not cheap since they are custom made and good vinyl material. They also have really strong adhesive backing and are domes/raised so it's not a flat sticker. Just wanted to know if anyone else was interested so maybe I can ask him for a group deal.
from the very begining we all knew they wern't real CF
Did he buy his from _________instead of Seamax?
He just called ____________ out!!!!

I crash tested the ones I bought from mastrind.... one side didn't come out too good.
I didnt buy them from seamax, that was already stated.
I had read that and assumed that it was carbon fiber on top of a vinyl sticker. He said he wanted somthing out of carbon fiber because his others got messed up. And there were so many other posts saying Carbon fiber engine cover stickers. And the pics looked valid as if they were carbon fiber. So I thought they were.
I got some oceanfront property in AZ to sell you, everyone is going to chime in and tell you how wonderful it is.........
ok. I read through all 7 pages of seamax's post when he was making the orders. Someone said "Oh I thought they were the fake stickers like on ebay" So he bought some after that. And seamax never told the guy that the "carbon fiber" stickers were fakes. and then jetswing had to try and cover it all up by saying he put in his original post not carbon fiber.
on the very first page, it says they are vinal stickers

you assumed wrong.
Jesus this is retarded!
As everyone else is saying, it was painfully clear that they are not real carbon fiber. Half of the shaZam! you can slap on your bike isn't real carbon fiber it's "carbon look" plastic or else "carbon look" plastic veneer over aluminum.
The guy was only trying to offer something unique and aesthetically pleasing for people who wanted to buy them.
STFU and enjoy your stickers or else buy some aluminum stickers from Suzuki.
Freakin' tard farmer.
After reading through the earlier threads on the stickers I don't believe the original individual tried to dupe anyone into believing those were actual carbon-fiber stickers...hell, from the pics you can tell they aren't anyway. Now the poster who sold them second-hand could have had someone believing they were carbon-fiber if they didn't know the original thread but I still don't think there was an intentional deception there either. I saw where Davipu said he would get 'em if they were 20/pr but not for no damn 40. It looks like the stickers are pretty neat and really not far out of line (if any) from what a retailer would probably charge. Ahhh, let it go, they're unique and make your bike look cool. Love the Baby GS, Mexico (Martin Truex won the first ever Busch race there!), and this forum.
C.......
they are dumb. I thought they were real and they wont make my bike cool in my opinion because its ink and not real. i had seen carbon fiber and this is a link to a pic of it. ITs blown up big in the pic but if it was comparable in size one could be mistaken for the other especially if not compared side by side. http://www.shopmaninc.com/Images/cf/cf19750.jpg
Anyways seamax didnt correct that one guy who thought they were real also.
hopefully i don't get roughed up too much for this, but.....anyone who payed 40 for a quarters worth of vinyl got screwed. why do you think the guy was trying to sell. Apparently someone was looking into the $40 price tag thinking they was getting the real thing. It's hard to imagine that anyone could sell a vinyl sticker for 40. Now if the Dealership was selling them, they would be $60 :)
Ok, don't know why I feel compeled to join this thread. But... why is it so important that they are "real" carbon fiber? Really, are you trying to save wieght? The little aluminum piece wieghs nothing, and a piece of carbon fiber might wiegh slightly less. You could save more wieght by spitting out your chewing gum before a ride. If its abrasion resistance your looking for I bet that a carbon fiber piece would get torn up pretty well in a fall too. Not to mention the first thing that contacts the ground is the ignition cover. Case savers, or a stainless ignition cover would work better.
I figured every body bought them cause they look cool. They work just like every other "carbon fiber" sticker that people sell for bikes.
