Brazillian food is the bomb!  Shrimp Mozambique is my favorite :thumb: Marry a Brazillian woman and be prepared for a hot-blooded wild woman.

Don't think i have had that shrimp dish, but if you got it in Brasil they would leave the shell on. That bugs.

BTW, Brasil (notice I am spelling it like they do down there) is a great vacation destination.  Besides the plane ticket down there, everything is really cheap.  Good times.

Ah, dining on the Copa, under the stars, while the street musicians and the snake lady ply their wares. Love the Baby GS, Brazil (Copa Cabana), and this forum.

If this thread indicates how you all want to think about Brazil, I suggest you avoid the film of the same name.  That is one weird flick.  :o

Ok, well I hope I didn't offend you by saying it was weird.  I guess it had a point but I just couldn't get into it.

Was in Brazil in early '70s, Rio mainly. I remember dining out on the Copa and there was this big black lady dressed in some very colorful mu-mu type thing. She was playing this musical instrument that looked like a polished metal gasoline can with springs stretched across the front. She played it by rubbing a piece of wood across the "strings" while she sang a song in some strange language. Two huge Boa Constrictors were draped around her shoulders and she wandered from table to table, playing and singing, all the while inviting the patrons to dance with the boas. There were a few swabbys getting drunk a few tables away from my party and evidently hadn't noticed the Boa Lady. As she approached their table one of the swabs looked at her, stood up and looked like he was going to give her a big hug. It was right then that he and his friends noticed the snakes...one of the snakes had wrapped itself around the standing swabby and as he tried to get rid of it, tables, chairs, drinks and people were flying every which way. The screaming sounded like a little girl who has just noticed a spider in her soup. When things finally quieted down the Boa Lady took off her hat and passed it around for tips. Hell, it was one of the neatest shows I had ever seen. Love the Baby GS, Brazil (hope the Boa Lady is still going strong), and this forum.

I thought that's what the thread was going to be about.

But the movie doesn't take place there; they named it for the song he was singing at the end...

:thumb: OH YEAH!  I love Brazilian food...  Too bad I've found only one Brazilian place in Seattle...  And you have to take out a loan to eat there...

Bosa Nova in West Hollywood is damn good though!
