Since I have a 1/4 turn throttle on my current race bike, I was wanting a similar throttle on my next bike that I am building. I have been looking around and all that I find are pretty pricey. But last week, In a raffle I won a 1/5 throttle adapter for my TLR (along with a LED tail light). The 1/5 adapter will quicken the throttle reponse so I do not have to reposition my hand at full throttle.
Before installing it I was playing around with test fitting it on a couple of other throttles that I have. It fits in a SV throttle perfectly. This is when I noticed the difference in diameter of the GS throttle tube and the SV.
The SV is about 1/8" larger in radius than the GS, which is about the same as the 1/5 throttle adapter. I have not connected the SV throttle to a carb yet to see how it affects the twist of the throttle. It looks like by switching to a SV throttle that the rotation of the throttle will be reduced.
I have not looked at the wiring connections yet but I am pretty sure that they would need to be modified, no big deal.
have u seen pablo's write up on the SV throttle tube?
