Title: Embarrassed by the GS
Post by: Blingmasta on May 24, 2005, 09:10:15 PM
Yeah yeah, it's not me of course, I love to be seen on the GS but this guy (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6027&item=4551584973&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW) seems to be a little embarrassed about the GS, plastering GSX-R stickers and 600 stickers all over the poor thing. And, they're ugly stickers too! I hope this guy's not on here, if he is, consider this a FLAME.

Ha, don't you just love that. I've never figured out why people would do that. For people who don't own/know anything about motorcycles it makes no sense because the average person doesn't have a clue or care what "GSX-R" or "600" means. And those of us who do ride know that it's complete bullshit so it's not like it's impressing us either. So basically, that person impresses nobody while looking like a fool in the process. :dunno:

About a month ago I saw a POS early 90's Honda Civic and the owner had got one of the "Hybrid" nameplate things and put it on their car. I almost laughed my ass off. I hope it was meant to be a joke, what kind of fool would be tricked by that.

yeah, it is funny as the X designates the 4 valve head and R is race.

Bob B has a GSXR(not sure of current cc)

my 82 750 was a GSX750E, god i miss that bike.

I used to drive an integra and got a kick out of all the civic drivers with "Type-R" stickers on their cars.  I think there may actually be a civic type-r nowadays, but not back then.

Ditto for the civics with vtech stickers on them back in the day.

I'm confused.

What's up with the pics of the green bike?  It also has an R and there is a Ram Air Induction Decal on the tank with extra large Suzuki logos.

I looked for an explanation but had a hard time making it through that huge block of all caps gibberish.

I figured it out.  It's a

:o RARE!  RARE! RARE!  :o

NEWPORT LIGHTS FACTORY CUSTOM PROTOTYPE RACING BIKE!!!!!

:o RARE!  RARE!  RARE! :o

Man, the ULTRA rare Ram Air Induction unit has to be worth what he's asking for the whole bike.  WOW!!!!!

DIBS!

This is the second or third time he has had it on ebay. Personally, I think that the oversized suzuki stickers look rediculous. I think that you guys covered the other extra stickers.

I remember how the mechanics at a garage I worked at described the wannabe ricers that would go to the dairy queen next door. "They're like the cars from "the Fast and the Furious" just not so fast and a little more furious"

Ya I told that guy I wanted to buy it and gave him my offer.  But he didnt take it, or say anything at all.  Speaking of fast and the furious there are a couple cars in town that look stupid, 2 ford mustangs with type r stickers on them, and then also have assasin rims (low rider truck rims, they be gangsta) and they also have some stupid looking body kits that dont fit right.   I think its funny too when people kink there anntenas.  haha im glad i have more sense than them.

What does it mean to kink an antenna? ...never heard that before.
Title: yes
Post by: Blingmasta on May 25, 2005, 07:47:55 AM
kinking an antenna means you put like a couple of 45 degree bends on the antenna to make it "cooler" and it also gives you at least 50 extra hp at the ground.

The Civic R is only sold in Japan, so unless it is right hand drive, it is a poser.  The best Civic you can get here is an "Si", me thinks.  But it has been a while since I tuned into the tuner scene.  You'd have to have about $35,000 in parts shipped in from Japan by King Motorsports to make an R.

But if I were going to get a Honda product, these days, it would be the TL.  Shoe some 19's onto it and it would be perfect.

Why don't people learn to spell anymore?

Or punctuate?

Or turn Caps Lock off?
