Swarm and Destroy!
Yesterday I pulled my beloved first motorized 2-wheeler out of the woods. Poor thing sat in snow and rain the last two years. I pulled the carb off, in which was clogged up with water deposits. Cleaned it out, put back together, put fresh gas in, loobed the chain, pulled the clutch and VROOM! Holy jeez this thing actually fired up! I couldn't believe my ears.
It's a 1977 Sears Free Spirit. One tough beast of a moped. It always ran good when I first had it too. It's basicaly the American built version of the former Austrian Puch Maxi. If you come across one in your wandering, it might be worth your time to fix up.
I just had to share this wonderful piece of machinery with the world. 8)

you need a milk crate on tha back of that thing, then you will be cool
heck yes
No, he needs some GSX-R stickers to be TRULY cool :nana:
I dont have a moped, but I do have it's cousin, a 50cc scooter. haha.
Looks damn good for 2 minnesota winters in the woods!
I rode a Motobecane in college, that thing was indestructible!
The brakes were horrible drummies that sucked.
I rear ended a lady in a Pontiac grand am during a rain storm. It cost me $1000 to repair her bumper :o I ended up on the trunk of the car and my helmet cracked the back glass!
The moped was still running
Just curious what the thing is inside your pipe? Is it a baffle that just looks weird or is it...I have no idea?
It's a baffle that screws in. I can take it out and it will sound like no muffler at all.
Now you can it for sweet moolah on ebay.

 I think you just made it faster.
That's it, I'll have to look for a Puch-a-Busa :)
(PS: woods in Minneapolis? Not in South or Southwest. Maybe Prospect Park neighborhood?).
Actually it's in Ortonville, my parents' yard. Far from Minneapolis.
That'd be "far from everything"! Far from Souix Falls, far from Moorhead and far from Minneapolis. I bet FedEx takes an extra day (or two) to get packages overnighted there!
