A friend of mine just got the best kind of bike... the free kind! A 1980 CB750...
Of course, it doesn't start up at the moment, and needs a ton of work
And that's why there is Dan's Motorcycle Repair Course (http://www.dansmc.com/MC_repaircourse.htm) and all the advice GS members have given over the years floating in my head...
I know I'm going to cringe when I first set eyes on that bike... :o Hopefully the tank isn't all rusted out.
hmmmmmmmmmm :thumb:
my friend has a cb750 too haha. he got his free as well!
Those can be pretty cool bikes! A friend of mine is doing a cafe racer CB750...and another friend has one that he cafe'd a long time ago. Cool bike.
How cool is this?!

Hopefully it is a Supersport model. Those are sweet. I nearly got one instead of my GS 500.
A friend of mine got a free CB750 as well. Real deep rumbly exhaust. Sadly it's pretty weak in the acceleration area :[
I have a 1980 cb900c. Its shaft. I re-ringed it cleaned the carbs and put in new diaphrams. Cleaned it all up and we are painting it this weekend. Its a beast. Faster than the gs and the dual range transmission is pretty cool.
yeah, pretty solid bikes, 120mph day long beaters. they love the abuse too.
I started riding on a 1974 CB 750. Solid bike, engine is damn near bulletproof. Much better highway bike than the GS but nowhere near as fun in the twisties. If I'm not mistaken, the CB was the first bike with a disc brake up front, and the 4 into 2 into 4 exhaust looked fun bags 8) . Tell your boy good luck with his project. :thumb:

I almost bought one when I was 20 as a first bike.... :dunno:
