Title: Stock 89 clip-ons Where to find?
Post by: DarkCyDE on May 26, 2005, 11:52:43 AM
I guy I was riding with a few days back managed to let his bike fall over and knock mine to the ground as well in a parking lot.  It bent my right handlebar and a few other things like the front brake lever and scratching my engine case. I need to find a replacement, wouldnt mind finding some chrome ones but dont really care. I have looked around and I guess I am searching for the wrong thing on google but I have fell short. Any Ideas where I can find one?

thanks
Mike

thanks. Sounds great. Will have to wait until I am not broke tho. the "clip-on plate" is ok, just bent the right side bar.  Do you have a site to order from or do I just get up with you in a PM when I am not so broke?

Thanks,
Mike
Title: PM

PM me ... however ... I have steel to make bars in the next few weeks ... once that is done ... this option disappears ... Steel has to be bought in 40 foot lengths and these take under 2 feet for a pair ... no way I am buying 40 feet for these ...
Anyway ... I will make a few from end pieces that I realise are a bit short to be a full bar ... so you're prolly going to get a few available anyway ... Hit me when I start crowing about 2 weld or 4 weld bars ...
Cool.

Um, i belive you can press the tubes out of the holders, ive got an 89 as well but found them too narrow. so i installed some aftermarket clipons allowing me to lay down more and have arms wider. i still use the top plate as its a nice clean plate compaird to the empty saddle plate full bars sit in. dont remmber what shape mine are in, will have to look.
