Title: Breakin pics
Post by: Roadstergal on May 26, 2005, 03:12:20 PM
I put another 100 miles on the bike on the 24th.  It was a perfect day to do it.

I can finally wind it out when I get home this evening!  I could have done it last night, if the dealership had sold me the right oil filter - bad on me for not looking in the box in the store.

How many horses does that thing have?

It doesn't matter - I'm cowed.

No good places to take the sunlit mountain pic.  :(

Although it got pink in a good spot.

Being good.  Yawn.

One more for the road.

I can never get enough of the pictures people post.  Keep'em coming.

Oh, and don't feel like you need to post "action photos".  The interesting one of your Tach at 4500 rpm looks like you were on the expressway (at about 55 mph perhaps).  Be careful now.  :nono:  We don't want to read any stories of accidents that include a yellow GS500F and someone named Roadstergal.

Enjoy, but ride safe. :)

I just slung it diagonally, pressed the shutter a few times blind, then pulled over and stashed it again.  Pure chance. ;)  The Rainier pic was from the side of the road - I hate pulling over to the side on the freeway, but there was a big truck stopped by the side of the road, and I figgered I was OK in front of him.

I really wish there were a good pullover point to get the view of the Snohomish river from I-5.  You go high above it, and it's so beautiful...

You did better than I did.  Here's one of the pictures that I didn't post from last Saturday ():

Nice collection of Bug Splats you have there, Kerry.  Several different species from the multiple colors.   :thumb:

BTW, you be careful with those action photos too.   ;)

Man, when the weather gets nice, the bugs come out!

As do the squids - and I think they splat the same.

Today was gorgeous again.  Rainier from I-90:

Closer to work:

With bike.  Note Manta bag.  This thing is very useful.

Another bag shot.

Even closer to work - my bike was goosed!

Very nice collection of photos, Roadstergal.  Thanks.  There's nothing close here in Michigan to the scenery you and Kerry have.  (How do I show envy in words?)

Even though the forecast is for scattered T-stormes today, I'm riding to work.  I'll have your pictures in mind, even if I loose and ride home in the wet.

Your can't go wrong with a Tank Bag, a very useful accessory.  Have one, as well as a Tail Bag -- that one carries about a helmet's worth of stuff.  Both are easily removable.  (Sorry, drifted off topic...)

Ride safe, and enjoy your "Broken-in" GS500F.  Oh, did I say that Yellow is the best color?

Roy...

Was that shot from Scarborough?     <sorry if I misspelled it, I lived in the area back in '94 - '95

Fort Lewis, Federal Way, Renton, and Tacoma... All old stomping grounds...

Hey, there are some good escape places in Michigan - I used to live in Chicago, and we spent some summers with friends up there.  And yes, yellow rocks.  :)

Which shot?  The first one was taken from the shoulder of the I-90 express lanes, the next three from Magnuson Park, and the last one from near the NOAA dock down by Health Sciences...

Take a weekend and come visit me in Bloomington, IN.  Nothing but curvy roads around here.

You are right, of course.  There are good roads and fine vistas here in Michigan.

My problem is I'm not close enough to any of the fun places to get out there for an hour or two.  I've circled where the good roads are (that I know of):
