Title: Charging my battery: Newb info.
Post by: That guy on May 26, 2005, 08:04:51 PM
Okay i figured this would be good to post because i have a feeling im not the only one here that understands little about the gs and how to take care of it. Today i went to auto zone and picked up a 1 AMP trickle manual battery charger. Why are these things good? Unlike car chargers, the trickle battery sends juice to your bike battery at a safe rate. Thus, ensuring your battery wont be damaged by "overjucing" it. The kind i got is made by schumacher. It is intended for 6 and 12 volt batteries. There is a little volt seletctor switch you can choose from. Hope this was a helpful post. cheers

Chargers do come in handy. I have mine on charge right now.  Left my bike ignition in "PUSH" (PARK) for eight hours today.  Luckily it started although reluctantly.  I'm going to eliminate the parking light feature soon.

Yep I just did that last week.  Mine didn't start though.  Had to get one of my co-worker bikers to pop the clucth to get it going again since I had no idea how.  Good to know though.
