Title: Aftermarket exhaust for an 05f?
Post by: FedExMike24 on June 01, 2005, 07:08:43 PM
I tried searching but I always get a ton of random threads that have nothing to do with my search  :dunno: Anyway, Anyone make a full system or slipon for the 05? seen a few pics of people with a wileyco on an 04, But on wileycos webpage I cant find anything at all for the GS.
Any ideas?

Thanks

the wileyco can is actually for a CBR, or a GSXR, or some other bike(i forget which).  the can can be purchased on ebay from dennis kirk for about $50 depending on which can u want.  to make it work on your bike, you will need a flange/midpipe.  this can be purchased from srinath, a member on this site, for about $40.  the two together will give u an inexpensive and quality made slipon.

search for; Vance & Hines supersport exhaust
Its a full system, which means you will need to re-jet, and put on a new air-filter I believe. my local shop can get one for $309.
Damn fine price, for a very nice exhaust.

Yea good wileyco ... and good flange ...
BTW I also posted about a slip on like Micron or some others I saw on sale at local shop ... should fit a 04 GS wihtout any mods needed ...

Look in WOF page 8 for pics ... tri oval was gone ( Alexxx bought it for SV ) but the rest was there last week ...
FWIW - Wileyco and flange cant be beat for value for $$$ cos its right about $110 for both and its slip on ...
Cool.

Thanks for the replys!

I guess the next question would be how difficult would it be to install the can/flange? Ive seen the flange threads so maybe I could find the answer to that in one of those. And would that combo mean I would need to rejet?

Thanks again

On a 05 ... take off the plastic and take off the exhaust, cut the thing at the point where the pipe gets larger ... then fit it back on then put flange on and fit can on ... You can avoid (OK a stock GS needs a rejet) re jetting by getting flange with choker in it ... Overall easier than pulling your fairings off and putting back on ...
Cool.

Took all the decals off mine and repainted. Here is my pic. dolepineapple has a black 04 with decals removed. Maybe he will chime in and post a pic of his too. Yea, the tail is still in the works, I'll get pics and a full write up when finished.
