Okay so i realized that my bike idles at about 2.5k rpm when its warmed up and has no choke. I checked out the search and saw where the picture that indicated the idle adjustment screw by Kerry. turned it and lowerd the idle...The problem now is that the bike has a rough idle. it goes from 1200-1500rpm back and forth back and forth. it just wont settle down. and when i rev it a little it dies, there is no response. The only way i can make it work is if I raise the idle to about 2.5-3k rpm and slowly and i mean really slowly (rev and hold it for 10 secs) and then increase throttle that way. From the looks of my search on this problem, I have come to the conclusion that i may need new plugs...Am I heading in the right direction? Thanks in advance.
I had a fairly similar problem once (it was compounded by other things though), but I had gotten some bad gas, and it gunked my carbs up pretty good. Try running carb cleaner through. It's cheap, and even if it doesn't work your only out a couple $. I ended up paying $700 to fix my problem, cause I'm dumb. Like I said though I had more problems than just choked carbs.
Has it always done this?? If so, consider re-jetting. It's easy-- look in the FAQ's section.

You've been putting it off long enough man :P You have to take those carbs apart and clean 'em. Given the history of your bike, it's going to need it even if it's not causing the idle problem. I wasn't too keen on it either but it's really not that bad. It's taking them off and putting them back on that's really the hardest part. If you can do that right you're mint. And get new plugs anyway...it can only help.
I just took mine apart again and found more crap in the float bowls. Looks like I'm missing something...
