Hey I noticed that on all the pics of the older models (early 90's) the handlebars are clip ons, and on the newer bikes they are "real" handlebars. Anyone know the first year of the non-clip on type? Also - how hard would it be to put normal handlebars on a bike with the clip ons?
89 was the only year with clip on's ... I made the 2 weld bars to mimic the position of the 89 on a 90+ bike. Now clip on's to the tube bars ... clutch cable, wires choke, throttle etc will be a sorta problem ... unless they were swapped out sometime in its past ... cos 89's are shorter ... you cant buy 89 ones cos their part numbers update to the longer ones ... so ... Swapped once = good forever ...
Cool.

i believe 89 is the 1st and only year gs came out with clip-ons, if you really want a more aggressive feel get some sm bars and vortech rear sets

P.S. If they made the clipons in other countries other years.....why are they so damn hard to get a hold of!!!!!!! Frustrating...
Huh I mean....damn clipons...they really suck...better the regular handlebars.
In other countries they made some funky ass high rise clip on's to like 2000 I think ...
Cool.
