Did my very first wheelie tonight. I was at a stop light and revving beside me was a mustang. I was laughing to myself, thinking that I was actually going to race him. I'm not the type to street race, but I couldn't pass up this opportunity to show up some fool who thinks fords' are actually worth buying.
The light turned green: I got to about 8mph before pulling in the clutch, revving to 9k rpms and dropping it. I rode the wheelie for just over 2 seconds. Now I know thats by no means a good wheelie, but It was my first, and it put a huge f*cking grin on my face! :)
And just in case there was any misunderstanding, any vehicle manufactured by Ford is total crap.

not sure about that

the 2005 ford gt is looking pretty good for under $100K USD
and for what you're getting, i'd say that statement is pretty harsh
and this is funny
i'm asian
i hate muscle cars
but the Ford GT wins me over
about the first wheelie, congratulations
i was trying last night on the main roads
but i guess i don't have enough balls to dump the clutch
i'm too gentle on the clutch and end up not letting go quickly enough
maybe one day. . .
cheers,
joel
Im gonna really agree with 97gs500e Fords are crap......I work for a major automotive company and when you do work in the auto industry you learn a lot of things and the bottom line is that FORD is crap.......But I will specify a bit more that only more-so in north america are Ford cars crap.....for some reason some of there cars seem a bit better in Europe......but still I would not drive a FORD if they paid me to .......or even any Ford brand........
The Ford GT is a sweet car. I got to see it at Ford's proving grounds before it was unveiled at their 100th aniversary a couple years ago. Definately not as pretty without paint.
like chevys aren't crap? :dunno:

Except for the fact that they got recalled because of their control arms cracking. A "super car" with a MSRP of $140K that uses cast upper and lower front and rear control arms that could crack at 200 MPH? I'll pass. They are now forged, but for a super car with this much hype, they should have done it right the first time.
I like ford alot. I own 2 right now :thumb:
This white monster in the background is my Ford: Beauty and the Beast. (http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y205/RVertigo/46804d9d.jpg)
It's not a bad ride... As long as you don't mind the $1000 - $2000 mechanic bill every six months, just to keep it on the road ... :x
chevy cars, ford light and mid duty trucks, dodge for heavy duty trucks
though i do like the GM miniVans with the 4.3 and the larger vans with the SBC
Compare the base F-150 to any other base full size truck. I dare you. All I hear about the F-150 in its ads are bold statements about bolts that hold hold the truck together. What is that? :lol
Why is the Ford Ranger so much weaker than the Tacoma and Frontier, and even the V6 Dakota?
And when it comes to cars, the Five Hundred boasts command seating. I mean, wtf is that anyway? And only 200hp from a V6? Those numbers would have worked 10 years ago.
On last thing, the hybrid Escape. Ford is making a big deal about creating two new hybrids in the near future. A Mercury Mariner Hybrid, and a Mazda Tribute Hybrid. We all know those two are nothing more than a rebadged Excape (and new tail lights on the Tribute).
Rebadged Hybrids, thats all they are.
My first car was a ford, I bought it used and was only able to put 2k miles on it before the transmission died.
:x :x :x
Ford gets a lot of crap... but
I've put 10k on my 'stang and no problems. I'm not to worried, I only need it to last till about 30-45k and by then I'll probably get a new car...
I'll race any vehicle you've got with my Ford.
For pinks...
Congratulations on your wheelie. That's exactly the way to do it.

I need to try this wheelie business.
I want to get used to the sensation and controlling it before I upgrade to a bigger bike where it can/will happen more frequently.
My first car was an '82 ford truck, F100. That thing was a beast. When I sold it, it had 330k on the original motor. I rebuilt the tranny right after I bought it, and I had all the rings replaced, but hey. In the end it leaked oil like an incontinent old man without his Depends, but it started every time I turned the key. Oh, not to mention all the times I ran it with little or no oil in it ( not the smartest thing to do.). So, :nana: :nana: :nana: to all you Ford haters. Built Ford Tough is for real!
I don't know how this topic turned into Ford bashing, but I'll chime in anyways :) .......I am not too fond of any american cars (they just don't have fit/finish/quality of Japs) but the thing that i can't stand about Ford is that they are horrible about correcting their mistakes, they always wait for something horrible to happen......my ethics class was 25% dedicated to Ford's way of handling problems (as an example of how not to)
I would never buy from the company i don't trust (at least when it comes to big ticket items)
I was raised by people who drive fords- everyone in my family does. so i'am a ford nut (proud of it) but i will have to agree that ford does do some dumb stuff to cut cost, like the automatic trans in the old tempo- it had a plastic gear in the trans..what's up with that?? but i love'em my wife hates'em...but what does she know :dunno:
All cages suck, so there!
Eat too much gas
Clog the road ways.
I do love it when the Ford/Chevy rednecks come out of the woodwork on a motorcycle forum!
heres a hint. They both suck! :nana: :nana: :nana: :nana: :nana:
Hint 2 the topic is about a wheelie

+1 :nana:
In my family:
1983 Ford F-150 (recently sold)
1984 Crown Vic (Father)
1990 Ford Ranger (mine)
1997 Ford F-150 (Father)
1998 Ford Taurus (Brother)
2001 Ford Taurus (Mother)
So I'd have to disagree... but maybe I'm biased :)
My Ranger is still running strong after 15 years. Doesn't look very pretty though...

I am, but not all active over there really. I just go there when I have questions about the truck. I don't customize it or anything, since it's all rusty and dented, paint peeling, etc. I can't complain though, I paid $200 for it :)
200 bucks? lol! sounds like you got a deal on good work truck... I'm having to pry myself away from looking at lift kits and such so I can get a gs! lol
