Title: Front suspension on working rite help
Post by: jefferygs500 on June 09, 2005, 07:15:28 PM
hey guys,, My front end was bottoming out a little soo i decided to take the tops of the forks and put little spacers in ( don't have progressive springs can't afford it rite now). So i pop them off and the tube at the top flys out the bike was on the center stand. Now i can't get them back in there sticking up about a inch over the threads on the top.. there hitting something solid inside not letting them go down. Never had this problem before.
Took the tops off a few times myself and never had this problem i usually just have to push down a little and screw the top on. I need the bike for tomorrow soo i need to hurry up and find some info soo i can go out and work at it. Thanks Guys..

its prolly just that the metal spacers are somewhat out of wack. I had that with mine and pulled them up and reinserted them and they went down.

Donno if that helps, Im no fork expert

Get the front wheel off of the ground by putting something under the exhaust headers.  With the weight off the forks, you may find that it is now easier to thread the caps back down.
