hey folks,
i just bought a 15t sprocket
and followed all of the instructions available from the MANY posts about installation, but i got stuck somewhere
when i got the cover off
(removed the 5 bolts and shift lever), i got to the part of the instructions where i have to use a some sort of pliers to release the lock of the sprocket
what does this lock look like
is it the little ring with two holes surrounding the tiny sprocket on the inside?
god, that sounded so off
i wish i could have done this last night, but i got stuck here
can someone shed some light on this. . .
cheers,
joel
Yea, there is a little c clip around the shaft holding the sprocket on. I used some small needle nose pliers and pried it off. Stick the ends of the pliers in the small holes, instead of squeezing (sp), open them up.
Black F's
i didn't have any pliers so i just use two flat head screw drivers to ply them open...it's bit tricky but it can be done. putting it back on it bit easier.
i had a set of (snap ring?) pliers that were made for this situation, made it alot easier when i changed my sprocket.
I just changed my front sprocket and chain 2 days ago. Get a pair of snap ring pliers. That's what they're made for and they're cheap. It will come off and go on like butter.
P.S. - You don't have to disconnect the clutch cable; you can just remove the shift lever and side cover and let it hang to the side.
thanks all
i think i did what you all told me to do yesterday
and gave up because it was too hot (tried doing it after a long ride)
i'll try harder tomorrow morning before i go out for my ride to work
cheeeeeeeeers,
joel
