i bought my GS from my brother in law last year at about this same time. It had been sitting for a year so it wasn't running right. So my dad and i were trying to get it running and what else happened but the Throttle got stuck full open. I broke the brake when i pulled on it so i tried to lay it down but hit a curb and endoed the bike and flipped it into my parents house. Need less to say after i blacked out from hitting head first i woke up with the bike on my leg and still running. I knocked my hip out of place and messed the bike up bad. But i finally got it put back together.
I had to replace the front forks, frt wheel, tire, handle bars, and mirrors. but you know us enthusiasts i bought a few extras, like aftermarket handle bars, cf mirrors, Airtech solo tail, Bandit 1200 rear shock, front forks came with progressive springs(yea). And now i can finally get out and have some fun.
I will post picks as soon as i can get to my parents and take some.
Yikes, what a beginning to GS ownership! :o
But you're a trooper for getting it back together after all of that. Looking forward to the pics. :thumb:
how come u didnt just pull the clutch in
And don't forget the Engine Kill Switch.
OT, that brings up a intresting point lately I've been just running errands on the bike so I do alot of parking lot hopping, and I have been using the kickstand to kill the motor. just thought I'd share.
i do that a lot myself. i almost never use the kill switch because i've seen too many people leave their lights on.
no i did pull the clutch and hit the kill switch right off the bat but it picked up so much speed it didnt help any
