I was wondering if anyone had extra pieces floating around their garage -- specifically, a handful of those little yellow fill plugs on Yuasa batteries and a 11 mm bolt that connects the turn signal bracket and the headlamp enclosure on a 2002 GS.
I topped up my battery a couple weeks ago and have since learned that either:
1) I have super-human strength
2) The battery fill plugs are surprisingly weak
While tightening I apparently broke three of them (at least, I've been very gentle with the others).
As for the headlamp bolt, I'm not sure what knocked that loose. I still have the accompanying nut, though.
I think it's ridiculous to place an order with Suzuki for a single bolt. :)
Take care folks,
C
Holy crap. The Bike Bandit website is unbelievable. I've never had an occasion to browse it before.

Yeah it is pretty good, but check the prices at MR Cycles before dropping the card down. Sorry I don't have the extra bolt, but I am sure you could order something else consumable (or nearly so) to make the order.
My problem is I don't know when to quit. There's nothing like seeing "SGP" on the little bags of parts.
Hey, I've been on that list for the battery plugs for over a month.
Same thing happened to mine. I know that I did not over tighten them.
They are just garbage. The original battery lasted about 16 months. I used the bike all year.
Suggestion here.....
Stop by a Tractor Supply store or battery store, if you ask politely enough they may take a peek at the trade in batteries and give you a few of the caps. I've gotten them for regular batteries before at both.
