ok anyone with expirience know a host for my little website? i used to be able to make really cool html stuff but forgot most of it. im trying to relearn what i lost. i want a host without banners. popups are ok.
oh and it has to have remote ftp access.
I use these guys: http://system.freepgs.com/
for all of my BS webstuff. It was fre when I signed up, but now it is a 1 time payment of $3. No popups, no problems, service has been spotless.
I do hosting and could give you some space to play in.
just install a free webserver and FTP server on your box.
you could be up and running in 20 minutes. No fuss no muss. Then install a remote control client on the box and voila, instant updates and access.
But, it doesn't HAVE to be as crappy as my site!
Pizzle's Crappy Page (http://pizzleboy.no-ip.info)
but the links to the software I'm using are right there.

Maybe where you are, but there isn't a decent ISP in the city of Madison. The Cable company blocks all incoming requests unless you pay for their "Business class" service (ie over $100/month) and the phone company is the same with DSL.
For some reason, none of the third-party DSL providers (speakeasy et al) offer service in Madison. They go to the areas around Madison, but there is some legal crap or physical problems with the lines.
Oh well, I've given up on building my own server. I'll pay for space if I really want it, and until then I get plenty of space from school (~300MB)
