Title: Koni rear shock
Post by: Lukewarm Wilson on June 14, 2005, 11:38:58 PM
Does anyone have a koni 2615 rear shock I've just bought a new one off E-bay for $105Aust and it looks the goods its got adjustable damping, spring adjuster and a progressive spring it was a discountined item hence the good price so I thought bugger it I'll just buy and hope for the best but if anyone has got one maybe they can tell me what its like it turned out to be much cheaper for me then the RGV or GSX conversion plus the benefit of not raising the ride height which would have left me with dangling legs as I'm only 5foot5  :thumb:

I know this is an old post, but I thought I would bring it back to life, so that new GS owners know there IS an option out there for the rear shock.
The Koni was perfect for my 250# self compared to the soft stocker.  I loved it.

I've seen a few of these go on ebay for under $75.

say it with me. "I will not revive threads so old, Myspace was the number one social media outlet. AIM and AOL where still popular as well. Battlefield 2 was to be released in 6 days. Star Wars Episode III Revenge of the Sith came out. WoW was still had millions of daily users."

seriously, it would of been better to just create a new thread..

Bear in mind that Koni motorbike shocks are now called 'IKON' and are made in Australia. Have been for many years.
They're pretty well identical to the old Konis I believe.

I like when people bring up some old threads from time to time :dunno_black: Especially when it's one where there aren't dead picture links or a problem that has already been solved.

This forum isn't sooooooo busy that it makes an issue imo... and I'm always interested in reading anything on this forum pretty much, ancient or new  :D

I agree with ShowBiz.

Nothing wrong with reviving an old thread as long as additions are still relevant, and don't wander off topic.

Better than than sorting through a dozen half-finished threads on the same topic.

I see all kinds of threads (and even the WIKI) talking about the Katana shock and a few on the SV shock and next to nothing on the Koni.  It's like the knowledge disappeared.

even came in with relevant info.  I had no idea they changed names!  Gonna start looking at their catalog now!

That's the WHOLE REASON to revive an old thread.  The rest of you just do this.... :technical:
