Did anyone watch that last night where they "called" the build and basically booted the guy?
Granted, he may not have had all the skills required for this particular build, but had apparently built bikes of some sort before. Be that as it may, he was asked to build someone else's bike. Having that jackass hovering around criticising every little thing you did, and making fun of you because he doesn't like the way you look might be a little unnerving, especially when this prick is stabbing you in the back every five seconds.
I thought people were supposed to go on and build the bike of their dreams. Alan should have refused the build from the start, under the circumstances. I mean, gee, we're bringing in a heckling prima donna who will dictate every aspect of the bike and criticize your every move in order to get some media exposure. "That's 10,000 dollars, don't mess it up. "There are only ten of these in the world." "If you can't build MY bike the way I would build it you suck"
I got the impression that the main guy from Exile wasn't exactly thrilled with the way things went down.
What show?
Build or Bust on Speed Channel
I never really liked that guy from the biker build offs I saw him, he has that (and no offense to the british here) brash british attitude. Although I love his bikes, especially that trike he did. But I agree that there overall attitude was shitty, and it alwasy is on that show. Its like they want to give them the hardest time in the world and WANT him to fail.
I didnt watch the whole thing, but are you talking about the kid with the hoody and the rings in his nose or lip. I didnt know they "called" the show. Was he building someone elses bike? I agree that I thought the show was to see if you could build and finish your dream bike. Id love to get on the show, but I dont weld yet so Id have some problems. The rest I can do, enough expereince with the GS, american chopper and build or bust. :thumb:
They had a "special" guest. A guy named Jesse Rooke who donated the frame and then dictated everything about how the bike was to be built. He was pretty insulting to the guy who was supposed to be building the bike.
After they called the build, the producer asked Russell if he would finish trhe bike with Jesse Rooke. He agreed and then ended up doing most of the work himself because Rooke took off for a photo shoot somewhere.
Another interesting point is that, initially, Rooke was demanding a lot of aluminum work. The contestant said no, that he would prefer steel. So then Rooke starts insulting the guy's skills. When the job got turned over to Russell and Rooke, Rooke asks Russell to do all the aluminum work because his aluminum welding skills suck.
