Title: Wheel Options?
Post by: BigTwin on June 16, 2005, 09:07:07 AM
Are there any aftermarket wheels or wheels from other bikes that fit on the GS?

I wrecked my bike and gouged part of the front wheel, and now I want some new ones.

What will fit?

On front you're pretty much stuck like Chuck.  Get another GS wheel off the WTB/For Sale board.

On back, it is stock OR you can fit a Bandit wheel (which requires some shimming).  See Pantablo's website for details.

89-97 Katana 600/750 use the same wheels as the GS.

The 88-97 Kat rear is a 3.5", the cush drive and rotor are the same.

Things change with the 98 Kat. The rear is a 4" (maybe 4.5"). The axle is larger so the bearings would need to be swapped. GS bearings will fit, same OD.

Damn Ken, you would put a 180 on a Big Wheel.
