Title: 2005 GS500F Full Fairing on 98 GSE?
Post by: Pinoy21337 on June 18, 2005, 04:51:09 PM
Could i possibly order the new gsf full fairing and mod it on my bike?  I like the windsheild and head lights that it offfers, also it will make my bike look alot more aggressive and bigger.  Or is there a place i can get full fairings?  I hate my round head light!

I have looked at the faried gs and i beleive it just has tabs, little blocks, one the neck of the frame so the fairing stay has something to bolt onto, you could just weld tabs on your self. Also the frame has a little hole in it, 6mm?, that a mounting bracket bolds ito.  Then I believe the rest is off of you motor mounts with maybe brackets.  Go to your delership and get them to look up the fairings and what all is there.  and just go look at the 04+ bikes.  or you can get a cyclops "number plate" from acerbis that is street legal if you find this too dificult.  I personally would go with the number plate instead because of the money and also I like the streetfighter look on the gs.
Title: Cheesy

Check with cheesy ... I did his 89-04 last month ... You're going to have to weld up various threaded inserts and tabs and need some brackets for the tail ... as well as make up the sissy bar bracket and weld it on.
Not too hard ... but some serious alignment is needed, else they dont fit up well. I messed up right side pretty good, then un screwed myself a fair bit, and got the left done much better ... but ask for users opinion in post development phase    of the SDLC (yea I am cramming computer lingo ... just to keep in touch ...)
Cool.
