Title: Opinions Plz
Post by: MR_PINK on June 18, 2005, 10:15:37 PM
Well im considering this deal i found with another rider in the bay area,
2002 sv650s it's got 8k miles, needs a new rear tire, and went down on left side.  Dmg is cracked left fairing, rash on bar end, and dent in the tank. The owner is a female rider one owner who wants to trade down as she wants a smaller bike.  The dmg to me does not look bad and it's only cosmetic.  The deal is a straight up trade for my 04F.  Both registrations are paid.  My bike has 4k and needs the 2nd service.  I have been wanting an sv for a while but want some good opinions as to whether or not this is a good deal for a straight up trade.  Now i know i can repair the fairing easy by replacing it and the paint on the tank is not damaged just a dent.  Is this a good deal or should i just wait for something else?  She is asking 3500 cash for the bike without trade.  Discuss

I am pretty sure there are better deals out there and I am sure there are more than a few SV's on Craigslist right now.  Then again, it is a straight trade and there is no hassle of finding a buyer, etc.

Just remember your bike is in good/new condition and you are trading for damaged goods.  Check out CL for going rates on SV's and see if you still think it is worth it :)

as long as it isn't a copper one, it sounds like a good deal, but get her to buy a new rear tire for it first.

Sounds like a win/win situation for both parties involved.  Make the trade.
