Title: small round vs large round jets (2001+)
Post by: gavin on June 19, 2005, 10:13:57 AM
Went to my local Suzuki dealer to pick up jets for my 2001 and they only had the 8mm OD (large round) jets in stock versus the 6mm OD (small round) ones that come stock.  The mechanic said it shouldn't make any performance difference, but someone posted earlier that there was.  I verified that there's no clearance issues, so does anyone have any ideas/theory about how the OD affects performance?

The Sudco part numbers you gave were for the small round, so I'm guessing that's what you have.

BTW, I broke one of the clips in the slide while trying to replace the needle.  Apparently, you can only shim the needle up to 3mm, beyond which the needle stay sticks up too far to fit in the clips.  I don't suppose you know where I might find a cheap replacement slide?  (They are $40 new!  :o )

So, did the large round work, or did you wait for the small rounds to come in?
