Title: Turn signals... 3 flash, but one doesn't..

So I installed the Wagner (the parts shop on had Tridon so I used that..) 552 and I've got my flashers back but for one exception....

The front right turn signal won't flash...  I switch bulbs from another good socket and can't get that to work..  I pulled off the light and checked the connections, all good...

I'm gonna rip off the stalk and see how the connections look there...  

Any other ideas what the 4th bulb wouldn't work? :dunno:

I think you have the right idea. just trace the wires and look for problems.
you should use a multimeter to test different points until you find the problem.

The front turn signals are connected inside the headlight housing. Black/white is always the negative in this system. You will be looking for a Light Green wire with a bullet connector on it.

So two on one side work great, but one on the other side doesn't. Right?

Is everything, besides the Wagner, stock? If the bike spent anytime outside, moisture in the socket can be a suspect. Moisture leads to corrosion/rust.

And of course my favorite Buddha Loves You is black tape and wire nut connections. I think those are newspaper swats on the nose infractions.  A personal pet peeve.

Check the lamp socket for corrosion. Make sure the bulb is making good contact with the socket on the sides and center bottom.

Behind the headlight (inside the housing) the turn signal connects to the wiring harness.  Black to Lt. Green and Black/White to Black/White. Check those connections.

really a multi tester will help you find the bad connection

Hey guys thanks for the responses!

The socket is in good condition, not a speck of rust..  I checked and rechecked the turn signal connectors and still nothing..

The bike is stock minus the replacement signal generator..

Multi-meter..  I know what one is, but couldn't figure out the life of me how one works.. :dunno:

I got it all figured out!!!!  One of the wires soildered to the socket was broken so I resoildered it today!  Work perfect now! :thumb:

Great job! You have acquired a valuable skill in using your powers of inspection.  When something doesn't look right, it probably isn't!

Learning what is right from wrong is very important in many aspects of life (said in a fatherly tone with pipe in mouth and nodding knowingly).  :lol:

PS - for the record, wire is "soldered" with solder.  ;)
