Title: Clutch lever vibration at higher RPM. HELP!!!
Post by: bluemeanie007 on June 22, 2005, 09:45:23 PM
Hey guys, just wondering if someone could help me out. I recently started noticing that I get a vibration sound when i get into the RPMs. I at first thought it was the valves cause I just did them, but it was really the clutch lever. around 7000rpm it starts vibrating up and down and makes a rattling / vibrating noise. How can i tighten it so it doesn't move as much. It's REALLY annoying. Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Lift up the rubber cover over the clutch perch and use two 10mm wrenches or sockets to tighten up that bolt and the nut underneath.

And, Welcome! Do you like the Beatles, as I see that your screenname is bluemeanie?

I've actually already done this and it still flaps in the wind.  I'm worried about stripping the threads cause that's how tight i've done them up at one point.

The Beatles are kick a$$!!!

You've probably done as much as you can. The perch must be bent from a previous dump (such that it is bent more open, allowing the lever to move vertically).

There's about 10mm of slack in the cable and the bike has never been dropped. I never had this problem before, but all of a sudden it started happening.
