My bike is in need of a respray, unfortunately I'm a bit skint and can't take my bike off the toad for any length of time seeing as it's my only mode of transport.
My options really are leave it to rust or repray with everything still bolted to the frame.
I have High temperature BBQ paint that I bought ages ago for redoing the exhaust and engine. Current plan is to use this paint to also do the frame etc. Artistic impressions are shown below.
What do you lot think?

you could pull the bodywork and engine, panit it and let it dry, and have it back together within a weekend
beware tho, getting the engine out is easy, getting it back in is a Buddha Loves You

All black looks good , but not a good color to be noticed with, think al stick with me yellow, stands out a mile
I temporeraly painted a friends bike with a smooth metal paint, i just took the tank off, sprayed as much as possible with a can (masked as much as possible) The swing arm I used hammerite silver smooth metal paint, thinned down, and stippled the brush instead of having brush marks, it didn't look to bad, gave it a rough allimunium effect, and it will do till she gets a spare frame to powder coat
Nice job, I really like the looks. I have to take mine down this summer and do the same. How long did it take you?
What needs respraying? Tank and plastic are easily removed, sprayed, and put back on in a weekend - faster, if you're willing to sacrifice your Friday night.
The frame and the engine are not going to be all nice and even if you spray it on the bike. It'll look like caca. I'd scrub off an individual patch of rust, if one is there, and repaint it with a rustproof rattlecan in that spot until you have time to pull it apart and do a proper job (4th of July weekend?).

I wouldn't do it. BBQ paint won't stick to the frame and it's a very flat black which doesn't look good on the engine. OTOH, blackout frames are the current fashion and change is good (and reversible).

Yeah I was worried about the BBQ paint. Does anyone know of a high temperature paint that will stick to the engine ok?

Once was a bike that was done as a promotional gimmick for a bed liner company.. The other two were just guys at bike night..
