Fellas, I'm glad to find you. I've put a few thousand miles on a loaned '94 GS500 and loved every minute of it, but I rolled it into my garage and knocked my yamahammer Seca 650 off its center stand when I came in too hot. The aggravation and upset caused me to mislocate the GS key after I had locked the fork. I've torn apart my garage and apartment looking for it, but no luck. The local suzuki parts manager told me that the fork lock can be removed easily, and the same with the ignition since I need a new key made.
However, when I got into it, it appears that the fork lock and ignition are attached with pins or big rivets. I can only imagine that these would have to be drilled out, at least the first lower set. So, call me a dumbass, but I need any insight on this. Like I said, it's a loaned bike, and it's in excellent condition. I don't wanna screw this up any worse.

Look, guys, I'm serious. I've asked my buddy for an extra key, and he just had the one. So I didn't think about the idea that some may have gotten that I was trying to steal this bike. I've got the registration papers, and the current tag. If someone will help me with this info, I'd be happy to give them any proof they need that I am indeed authorized to remove the fork lock.
Thanks for any help you may offer. Tomorrow I'll be calling my buddy the parts manager and asking him "what the ****?". It appears I'll have to drill the sucker out anyway, since his advice was incorrect.

I doubt that anyone thinks you stole the bike. More likely is that:

Pick the thing ... or have a lock smith make you a key. I have had them make it for $20-30 before. the dealer can make a key with vin if bike's not too old or stuff hasn't been swapped out.

Yea, Thats what I was gonna say..
If you have the manual there should be a KEY ID # Written inside it.. you can take that to the dealer/locksmith and get a key made..
i had this happen with mine once (wife "accidently" threw the keys in the garbage). those are not rivets the are "seciruty bolts" the head snaps off when they are tight so they can not be removed easily. you have to remove the gauges and headlight. then drill partially into the heads of the bolts. then use a punch to turn the bolts back out. I brought my lock cylinder to a locksmith - a new key cost me $7. not bad price if they had to come to the house it would have been $120. you can replace the bolts with standard or allen head bolts. I reused the old ones and used a punch to tighten
