Ok, I'm planing to repaint my '93 and needed to take the front fender off. I checked my Clymer service manual and noticed the following. In the MANUAL the axle bolt goes through from the rotor side of the wheel to the speedo cable side of the wheel. The castle nut/cotter pin are on the speedo side (the left side if you're sitting on the bike). On my bike this was reversed. The castle nut/cotter pin were on the rotor side of the wheel. So, the question is, when I reassemble it should I put it back the way it was or the way the manual shows it? Does it matter which way the axle bolt goes through the wheel? Thanks.
If it's any consolation, the photos in section 6-14 of the '89 to '02 Haynes manual (Front wheel - removal and installation) also show things the "reversed" way.

Ok, the exploded view diagram in the Clymer manual, a picture in my owners manual and the fiche link you provided all show the orientation that matches how my bike was setup (castle nut on the rotor side). But the pictures in the Clymer manual showing the removal of the front wheel have it reversed. I'm going with the majority and keeping it as I found it. Thanks Kerry.
