You shoulda said something. I'd help you out for beer
Heck, I'd probably do it for free. Just keep in mind that you might catch goat's syndrome if I get anywhere near your bike. It's really contagious, don'cha know?
Hey Mano !
Where did you get your seat? how much was it???

It looks like a corbin to me. You can get them new for ~$300. I got mine on ebay for $150, but it has a small tear in it and is several years old.

hey Ant... if you haven't already, get on the list... http://www.gstwins.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=13610. Kerry's kit has a video that walks you through the valve job. Very easy and good to learn.

The seat came with my bike, it's the Suzuki Gel seat. Since it came with the bike, I don't know how much it was and I can't compare its comfort to stock or anything else. Sorry that's not very helpful :dunno:

Yeah, I nearly got goat's just because I'm in the same state :o If you guys plan on getting together at all, let me know, I haven't been on my bike for anything but commuting lately and I wouldn't mind making a trip one of these weekends.

Muahaha, it has spread....
Getting together would be fun, but the question becomes when to do it and where. I haven't been riding around here enough to find anything really fun yet. I do want to go back and take pictures of the road I crashed on, but thats another matter.

I dunno, that sounds like a pretty weak offer to me. No beer....
When were you thinking about doing your valves? I'd be happy to help if I can. I just don't know where you can get shims around here. I'm sure that you can buy them at Englehart's but those guys are dicks, so I'm not going to reccomend giving them ANY money unless there's no other choice. Maybe call around and see if you can find a place you can trade shims with (or buy them at a reasonable price), call sutters speed shop (motorcycle salvage yard, might be a bit pricy though) wait until Young's America re-opens or get Kerry's kit. I'm pretty sure that there are shims in there.
If you're pinching pennies and you don't mind waiting a little while, you can get shims for $4.95 each from HERE (http://www.crc2onlinecatalog.com/valve_shims.htm).
If you've watched my Valve Adjustment video, you know that after measuring the valve clearances and shim thicknesses you can put the bike back together in 14 minutes 8) ... ride the bike while you wait for the shims to come in ... and then swap in the new shims and have the bike BACK together in another 36 minutes!
