well it looks like my key is exactly the same cut on both sides does this mean I am  screwed and have to get a locksmith to some out and rekey for both locks?

It could also be that you had the key made at a "cheap" place that didn't do a very good job.  I had my first (pre-crash) key copy made at Lowe's.  It worked in the tank lock both ways, in the seat one way but not the other, and it didn't work in the ignition at all.  :x

The stock key IS cut the same on both sides.  If your locks all match, tthat's how the key should look.  The photos in that other thread showed what I did so I could use one key for two different sets of tumblers.  But I only referred you to that thread so you could see the ILCO blank numbers....

ahh I get it now I have some investigating to do who stocks those blanks?
The dealer told me they can give me an exact reproduction of stock if I bring my ignition to them.  what a pain in the ass

I can get those blanks for less than $1 each.  Maybe a little more for the rubber head ones.  MAybe I'll get a bunch in stock and send them out to people who's locals don't carry them.
