Hey,
I'm in the market for a new helmet because the one i got with the bike is way too big and i can jiggle it around my head. At highway speeds the windnoise is deafening..even with earplugs. I'm guessing all that extra space is creating a wind tunnel noise sound. I'm looking at the HJC CL-14
Switch Helmet from newenough.
any opinions or comments would really be appreciated.
i have it (well, i have the mb-ii, but the only difference is the colors), but not much to compare it to except a cheap-ass vega i had when i used to autocross. i'm happy with it. it does feel like it has a little "lift" when riding at highway speeds, but for $100, i'd buy it again.
I have a CL14 and an AC11. The AC11 is MUCH nicer. lighter, less wind noise, better quality vents, and much more comfortable.
I bought a cl-14 switch from http://www.motorcyclesuperstore.com and think it's pretty good, but the only one I'd worn before was my dad's half-helmet so it's not much of a comparison. Great value in a helmet if you're on a tight budget, and I'm sure it will save your brains well, as it has DOT and SNELL approval.
they had both the cl-14's and the scorpions at houseofmotorcycles in el cjon (sp) those are the cheap lids that I'd recomend, so try them on and see how they fit.
i'm more concerned about windnoise as the helmet i have now...(a vega) is loose on my head and windnoise is incredible. Even with earplugs i think i'm going to go deaf. I don't mind windnoise as long as its reasonable...they actually have this helmet on sale at newenough for 85...so i'm thinking its a good deal.
Thanks again for the comments and help.

+1 :thumb:
I also have it and like it. Though now that it's been dropped a few times and is over a year old, I may upgrade to the AC-11. Why? Because The CL-14 is great but lifts at higher speeds and is pretty noisy. I wear ear plugs out of necessity!
