I'm wondering if anyone knows the size of the nuts that hold the speedo and tach in their housing (http://www.ronayers.com/fiche/300_0027/speedometer/speedometer.cfm?man=su&groupid=3090&parent=3070) (#9). Two of mine have fallen off and I'd like to replace them, but I'd rather--if possible--pick them up @ a local auto parts store than ordering them from a dealer ('cause I'd feel silly asking a local one to order just two nuts, and I don't want to pay $8 in shipping to order $2 in parts online).
In case nobody can help you ... I have ordered bolts and screws and such from my dealer several times. I have to pay in advance, but I never pay shipping. The stuff just comes in with the dealer's regular parts orders.
OMG !!!
Your nuts fell outa your speedo ! Ewe :o

The outside diameter of the threaded part of the post is 5mm. Using a die, I cannot get a 5 x .8 or 5 x .9 to thread on. It may be 5 x 1. The threaded section is so short, I cannot get a tap to lay against it for a match. Order via the local dealer unless you have a lot of stuff to order to reduce the shipping impact. Heck, he may have it in stock.
Take one of the nuts off your tach and bring it into your local hardware store. they will probably have a match and it will be very cheap. :thumb:
went to home depot, hardware section, found everything for $1.05 including tax. I got some washers too to shim it up a little. I think i threw the receipt away with the SKU #'s, sorry.
