Title: Seat lock screw
Post by: iandunn on June 29, 2005, 10:00:12 PM
The screw holding my seat lock to the bike fell out, so I ordered a new one (http://www.ronayers.com/fiche/300_0027/seat/seat.cfm?man=su&groupid=3090&parent=3070) (#17-3), but it's barely long enough to thread through the hole in the lock. There's maybe 1mm extra. Did I order the wrong one?

Another question... where is the lock supposed to screw into? Before I just found a hole under the rear fender but I wasn't really confident that's where it was supposed to go. My Clymer doesn't mention it at all.

My 90 has two screws. They mount the lock assembly to the left side "bungee bar" entering from the top and screw into the lock itself.

What year is your GS?

Same as mine so...you need two screws to hold it in place **assuming** no one has modified the mount for the lock assembly. I have taken a pic of the mount and will try to post it shortly.

Here you go...

It is a little fuzzy, but useful. It is resized to take up less space.

I hope your bungee bracket is still on the bike. It can be a little tricky to get the lock and cable into the hole. This is one of those things that requires you to hold your mouth just right.
